QUESTIONS WE'RE ASKED, FREQUENTLY
HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU NEED FOR pre-ORDERS?
Our pre-order schedule is first-come-first-serve and can fill up at any time, so the more notice you give the more likely it will be that we have availability. Pre-orders are guaranteed only once completed with all details and full pre-payment.
All goods have minimum notice requirements; custom cakes, for example, require a minimum of one-week's notice, pending availability. This means that we can accept custom cake pre-orders only if they are made 1) at least a week prior to the pick-up date, and 2) our schedule has availability for that date. In other words, a custom cake pre-order made at least a week in advance can be accepted only if we are not already booked for the date in question.
SHOULD I PRE-ORDER NOW OR WAIT UNTIL LATER?
Always pre-order as soon as possible. Our schedule often books weeks or months in advance, and we can't guarantee availability without a pre-order, so if we have availability we recommend booking right away.
CAN I PLACE MY PRE-ORDER ONLINE?
We don't accept online pre-orders at this time. We're happy to answer any questions via email, but all pre-orders must be finalized and pre-paid in full in-store or over the phone (due to the complexity involved with custom cakes they can be pre-ordered only in-store). We'll be happy to email a copy of your receipt to you, just ask when ordering.
Emailing or submitting a request through our website does not constitute placing a pre-order. We're happy to discuss placing a pre-order via email, however a pre-order does not exist until full pre-payment is made. We do our best to stay in contact during the pre-order process to ensure that the pre-order is completed in time, but due to the volume of requests we receive, once we've responded to inquiries we are generally unable to follow up again to provide reminders.

ARE DECORATIONS INCLUDED IN CAKE PRICING?
In many cases, yes. Many buttercream designs are included in our base cake pricing, while some more elaborate designs require an additional design fee. Custom cakes need to be quoted on a case by case basis. For designs involving non-edible elements like ribbon, figurines, and fresh flowers, we ask that customer provide them; we'll place them on the cake at no additional charge.
DO YOU OFFER WEDDING CONSULTATIONS/TASTINGS?
Yes, our wedding consultations consist of a sampling of five cake flavors of your choice and a design session. Consults are typically scheduled Monday through Saturday from 11am until 4pm. We ask for a $20 deposit, which is deducted from the final price of your cake if you book with us (most people do). To schedule a consultation and place your deposit, call us at 704-525-0145 once you've chosen the five flavors you'd like to sample and we'll reserve your appointment. You can also stop by to schedule an appointment in person.
DO YOU MAKE GLUTEN-FREE goods?
Yes, our Almond Horns and Coconut Macaroons are gluten-free, and Gluten-free Chocolate and Vanilla cakes are available by pre-order. While we take all reasonable precautions to prevent cross-contamination, since all of our items are made in a gluten-ful kitchen, we cannot guarantee that any item will be completely allergy-free.

DO YOU MAKE CAKEPOPS?
We don't make cakepops, but we do make cake truffles, as well as cakes, cupcakes, and cake slices. We also recommend tea cookies and quartered brownies and bars as bite-size dessert options.
DO YOU ACCEPT NUT-FREE ORDERS?
Yes, and while there are nuts in our kitchen (some of them even go in the food) so we can never guarantee that any item will be completely allergy-free, we take all necessary precautions to prevent cross-contamination.
DO YOU MAKE BREADS?
Yes, Cuban bread is available every Saturday at 1pm. The following seasonal breads are available for pre-order, and with limited in-store availability, when they’re in season:

DO YOU DELIVER?
We currently offer delivery only for wedding cake pre-orders. We’ll discuss all delivery and set-up details during the wedding pre-order process.
Can I modify or cancel a pre-order?
Cakes & Cupcakes
Cake and cupcake pre-orders can generally be modified or canceled with at least one week's notice, with some changes requiring more than one week's notice. All modifications/cancellations must be done in writing in-store or via email.
All other goods
All other pre-orders under $300 can be modified or canceled with at least 48 hours' notice. Orders over $300 may require the purchase of perishable ingredients or supplies in quantities exceeding their typical volume, which may result in a partial refund regardless of the amount of notice given. All modifications/cancellations must be done in writing in-store or via email.
Modifications/cancellations are complete only with written confirmation. After confirming the modification/cancellation, applicable refunds will typically be issued in the original form of payment.
Since pre-orders are baked just for you, we're unable to provide refunds for pre-orders with less than 48 hours' notice.
